About Puri Jagannath Temple, Odisha
The Jagannath Temple, dedicated to Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, and Devi Subhadra, stands as a symbol of spiritual sanctity and cultural heritage for millions of devotees, as per the Odisha Tourism. The temple's ceremonial practices and traditions have been meticulously preserved for centuries, contributing to its aura of divine mysticism.

Until now, devotees had only been able to enter the temple through a single door. This marks the first time after the COVID-19 pandemic that all doors of the temple have been opened for devotees. Newly elected Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi graced the occasion by being present during the door-opening ceremony.
The Chief Minister emphasised that opening all temple gates fulfilled a promise outlined in the BJP's election manifesto. He acknowledged the challenges faced by devotees due to gate closures. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the previous BJD administration kept all four gates shut, restricting devotees to one entrance. There were widespread demands for the opening of all gates. In a move to conserve and protect the temple, Mohan Charan Majhi announced the Cabinet's decision to create a Rs 500 crore corpus fund dedicated to addressing shrine-related concerns.
