Built in the 8th century by Raja Bir Chand, Nani Devi mandir is one of the 51 Shaktipeetha temples in India. This temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga, and it is believed that the shrine is built on the spot where Goddess Sati’s eyes fell off after she died. It is also believed that visiting this temple and offering brass and copper eyes to the goddess can heal eye-related issues. Many people have reported that their cataracts were cured after visiting the temple.
Vashisht Temple, Manali, Himachal Pradesh
Situated around 3 km from Manali, the Vashisht temple is dedicated to sage Vashisht. People believe that he meditated at the same spot where the temple is built today. The place is best known for its natural sulphur spring, where devotees come in large numbers to take a bath.
Hadimba Temple, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh
Hadimba Devi mandir is one of the prime tourist attractions in Shimla. The shrine is dedicated to Hadimba Devi, wife of Bhima. According to beliefs, Hadimba meditated and did penance at the spot where the temple is built. People are attracted to the architecture of this intricately carved temple.

Jakhoo Temple, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh
Set at an elevation of 8500 ft., this shrine is one of the most famous temples in Shimla. The big Hanuman statue built here is a major landmark of the hill station. Situated on the Jakhoo mountain, people believe that this is the same spot where Lord Hanuman spotted during his mission to collect Sanjeevni Booti for Laxman. Another legend says that this is the place where Lord Hanuman met the sage Yaaku and told him about the Sanjeevni herb.
