For Northern and Western Indians, winter starts in mid-November and extends to February. However, it is not the case with hill stations and Eastern India. There are many destinations that start receiving snowfall in October itself.

Lachung, Sikkim
There is a Zero Point situated near Lachung, Sikkim. It is almost always covered in snow, being 9,600 feet above sea level which makes it a perfect spot to plan a holiday. Since it is not a famous tourist spot, there are no adventure activities but plenty of scenic views
Auli, Uttarakhand
Auli starts receiving snowfall in November. Its bountiful landscape attracts several tourists and adrenaline junkies. It is situated at an elevation of about 9,200 feet from sea level.
It is a popular hiking and skiing destination in India. Surrounded by oak trees and cone-bearing plants, the tourist spot gives a panoramic view of the Himalayan ranges. You can also plan a holiday here around an annual sports competition organised by the Uttarakhand Tourism Department.

Kufri, Himachal Pradesh
Winters in Kufri start in October only and extend till March. It is a hill station near Shimla (unknown facts about Shimla), the capital of Himachal Pradesh. From quiet streets to stunning views, it is a spellbinding destination to visit in India in November.
