Taylor Swift made an appearance with her boyfriend Travis Kelce, on Travis's and his brother Jason Kelce's podcast, The New Heights show, on August 12, at 12:12 am EST. It’s here that she mentioned the release of her new album, The Life of a Showgirl.

What do we know so far:

Travis reacted to her announcement by screaming “TS12”!

The video, a collaborative reel between Taylor and the podcast page, amassed 75000 likes in 6 minutes of its release. It's gotten over 58 million views. 

A comment summed up fans’ reactions: “Oh, Taylor, Swift fans are in meltdown mode.”

Globally, fans were thrilled with the announcement, since it came around a year after her last album release.

This is Taylor's 12th studio album. Her previous albums include Taylor Swift (2006), Fearless (2008), Speak Now (2010), Red (2012), 1989 (2014), Reputation (2017), Lover (2019), Folklore (2020), Evermore (2020), Midnights (2022), The Tortured Poets Department (2024).

Taylor Swift also wrapped up her sold-out show, The Eras Tour, after travelling across the world for it.

Taylor Swift’s New Album: What Fans Are Speculating

Fans rushed to decode the announcement, possible easter eggs, and what the music will potentially be like.

One big theory is that her music will finally be about her, her life in the music industry and her songwriting journey – a shift from her usual content, which has largely been about her love life.
Some are also saying that since Travis was part of the announcement, she’ll likely have some music about him and their relationship. The pair went public about their relationship around September 2023.

The mint green colour and orange glitter suggest the sound to potentially be upbeat and happy, in contrast to some of her other music, which was more sombre and had black and white covers.

Fan Theories and Easter Eggs about Taylor Swift’s New Album

Fans rushed to decode easter eggs she may have dropped about the album.

One was the fiery red heart being used to indicate the new album, being released 13 years after Red, depicted by the plain red heart. 13 is her lucky number.

Sabrina Carpenter’s website featured an August 12 date - suggesting a collab between the two artists in the upcoming album.

Some even drew correlations between the Eras Tour stage being shaped like a key, while the new display picture has an orange lock.
