This Pride Month Billboard has launched an amazing initiative, inviting artists from all around the world to write ‘love letters’ to members of the LGBTQ+ community. In response, several artists, including Ariana Grande, Ashnniko, and Sabrina Carpenter, have penned heartfelt letters, sharing their experiences and personal connections with the queer community.

Ariana Grande has expressed her deep connection to the LGBTQ+ community, saying, "There is nothing more infectious than the joy and love that the LGBTQ+ exudes.” She also talked about her upbringing and the influence of her gay brother, stating, “I idolised him… Sexuality and gender were never topics my family and I were afraid to discuss.”
According to her letter, she was taught the art of makeup by queens in gay bars and found solace and inspiration in the love and support of the queer community. She passionately believes that love should know no boundaries, asserting, “Love is like music. It knows no boundaries and isn’t exclusive to any one gender, sexuality, race, religion, age, or creed.” Ariana expressed her eternal gratitude and vows to create anthems that wrap the community in comfort and help them live their best lives.
“I am eternally indebted to and inspired by the LGBTQ+ community. I hope to create anthems for you that wrap you up in comfort and make you live your best life as long as I live,” she wrote.

Ashnikko, an artist known for her unapologetic attitude and empowering lyrics, shares her journey of self-discovery and acceptance in her letter. Growing up in North Carolina and Latvia, places that are majorly intolerant towards the queer community, Ashnikko candidly confesses, "Being queer in those environments is one of the greatest heartbreaks of my life." However, she expressed in her letter that she found solace in London's queer community, where she realised that love is not conditional or rooted in fear. She states, "Learning that love is not conditional or constricting, that it is not rooted in fear, was like realising that I had been breathing wrong my entire life."
Ashnikko expresses her gratitude to the LGBTQ+ community for giving her a safe space, saying, "The impact the queer community has had on my life is something I will never have big enough words to say thank you for." She encourages queer youth from similar backgrounds to build their own families and find solace in the communities they create. Her message is filled with hope, emphasising the power of love and the freedom to explore and embrace one’s true self.
