Popular South Korean actress Han So-hee has been arrested for her alleged involvement in operating illegal gambling dens on September 2, 2024, as reported by the South Korean media outlet TV Chosun. This news has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry and among fans, as Han So-hee, known for her roles in hit K-dramas like ‘Gyeongseong Creature’, ‘Soundtrack’, ‘The World of the Married’, and ‘Nevertheless’, now finds herself in the midst of a controversy that she had no part in creating. Why Is Actor Han So-hee's Mother Arrested?
The arrest came after a thorough investigation by South Korean authorities, who had been tracking a network of illegal gambling operations for several months. Han So-hee's mother Ms. Shin already has a bad relationship with her daughter due to her involvement in multiple fraud cases.
According to a report by Koreaboo, Ms Shin (Han So-hee's mother) has been operating a total of 12 illegal gambling dens across Ulsan, Wonju, and other locations since 2021. Customers would load their credits onto a gambling site before participating in various games.
According to a report by Allkpop, “In March 2022, Han So-hee's agency released a statement acknowledging that Ms. Shin had been involved in several fraud cases, including forgery, but clarified that Han So-hee was not connected to her mother's actions, as determined by the court.”

Han So-hee's Agency Response
As the news broke, Han So-hee’s agency 9ato Entertainment issued a statement regarding this situation. According to Naver and Soompi's report, it stated that,
“Hello, this is 9ato Entertainment.
We would like to share our position on the reports regarding the mother of our actress Han So Hee.
The report from yesterday (September 2) concerns Han So Hee’s mother’s personal and independent actions. Han So Hee was devastated upon learning about it through the news.
We want to reiterate that this incident is entirely her mother’s independent actions and has nothing to do with the actress.
We apologise for delivering such uncomfortable news related to personal matters rather than her work.
