Gurucharan Singh aka Roshan Sodhi From Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah Speaks Out On His Mysterious Disappearance

The actor, who won millions of hearts as Roshan Singh Sodhi from the much-loved sitcom 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah,' has finally spoken up about why he mysteriously disappeared, much to the concern of all.

Singh, who had mysteriously gone missing on the 22nd of April 2023, and for whom the Delhi Police had finally taken up an investigation of kidnapping, finally returned home safely on Wednesday. Now, recently seen in Mumbai with his furry companion, the actor speaks out about the reasons behind his sudden disappearance.

Speaking to Bombay Times, Singh revealed that the act of vanishing was not for good publicity but contributions from his struggles and spiritual seeking. He shared, "Since the pandemic, many things have affected me." He said his father had to go through surgery in 2020 and some other failed business establishments, among other issues, hit him hard mentally.

"I tried starting many businesses on my own, but nothing worked out," said Singh, who also pointed out a long-standing property dispute within the family that has drained finances. "A lot of money was spent on that which affected my finances, and I was very much disturbed about it," he added.

He further spiced it up that he made an unplanned trip and sought solace in his spiritual roots. "I have always been spiritual because of my parents, and at this point in life when I was feeling low, I turned towards God," he explained. The actor said he had no intention of coming back home when a divine sign came his way and he decided to return.

He added, "I could have given interviews if I wanted publicity about my dues for my work on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah. I could have used social media for that, but I never did."

Looking forward, Singh stated how he wanted another chance at life for both work and life endeavours. "I am now asking people from the industry to support me since I want to do a lot of work," he said. The actor wants to earn back the repayment of his loans and the clearing of all debts in the industry, this time with a renewed commitment to his craft.

In a touching reflection, Singh said, "I have realised that I can continue my spiritual journey even while fulfilling my other responsibilities in life." This balanced perspective spells a new innings for the actor whose affair was on again and off again with 'Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah' from 2013.
