Ever-so-popular Korean pop band BTS has renewed their contract with the agency HYBE for the second time. BigHit Music has also donated a sum of 1 billion that is approximately $750,000 in the name of the BTS ARMY as a token of gratitude to the K pop group and its fans.
On Wednesday September 20, 2023 HYBE made an announcement saying, “We have completed the board of directors' resolution to renew the exclusive contracts of the seven members of BTS, artists under BigHit Music.”
They further added, "With all members signing a second contract renewal, the group will be able to continue even after 2025 when they complete their military service."
All the seven members of the Korean pop music group, BTS are one by one enlisting for South Korea’s mandatory military service. The members are all slated to wrap up their military service by the year 2025 and then reunite as a band to continue to make epic music.

Most recently Suga aka Min Yoongi began his enlistment process. He becomes the third member of BTS to start his service after Jin and J-Hope.
In South Korea, all able bodied men aged between 18 and 28 years are mandatorily required to serve in the military for a period of two years. All the members of BTS were allowed to put their military service on hold until they turned 30 years old. Suga had turned 30 on March 9, 2023.

The military enlistment of the BTS members has been a topic of hot debate fr a very long time in South Korea. However, the band members have always said that, “they will accept the call of duty when the nation calls them”.

The band also includes Jimin, RM, V and Jungkook all of whom will also have to serve their compulsory military service tenures.
