Bhojpuri Actor Amrita Pandey Death: Who Was She? Here’s What We Know About Her Death

The tragic news of Bhojpuri actor Amrita Pandey’s death shook the nation. The actor passed away in her apartment on April 27, 2024. Even though no note was found in her house, the Police suspect that she died by suicide. Fans are awaiting confirmation on the actual reason which will be revealed after investigation.

One of the most prominent actresses in the Bhojpuri film industry, Amrita Pandey was found dead in her apartment after a perplexing WhatsApp status. According to an NDTV report, the actor posted a shayari on her status which said, "Do naav me savaar thi uski zindagi, humne apni naav duba ke uska safar aasaan kar diya (Their life was riding on two boats, I made their path easier by sinking my boat)."

According to a Times of India report, Amrita was suffering from chronic depression and worrying immensely about her career trajectory in the entertainment industry. Her family also revealed that the cause of her deteriorating mental health was due to insufficient work opportunities and projects. They also revealed that she was undergoing treatment for depression (Helping Someone With Depression). However, they are yet to release an official statement regarding the same.

She and her husband visited Bhagalpur for her sister’s wedding on April 18, 2024. After the festivities concluded, her husband left for Mumbai while she stayed back for a few days. On April 27, 2024, Jogsar Police in Bihar received a case of a woman’s death allegedly by suicide in Divyadharma Apartment. On arrival, the body that was lying on the bed was recognised to be Amrita Pandey’s.

Who Was Amrita Pandey?

Amrita Pandey, also known as Annapurna, was one of the most famous actresses in the Bhojpuri film industry. She was also seen in significant Hindi film industry projects including ‘Haider’ (2014), ‘Dangal’ (2016) and ‘Chennai Express’ (2013). Her last project was the web series ‘Pratishodh’. Pandey tied the knot with Chandramani Jhangad, an animation engineer. They lived in an apartment in Mumbai.
