The gripping adaptation of the Tamil blockbuster Theri, which originally starred Thalapathy Vijay, has been directed by Atlee. The film follows the journey of a
father protecting his daughter while addressing broader societal issues like women’s safety and modern parenting. The movie’s narrative has been reshaped creatively to offer a contemporary perspective.
Dhawan explained the film’s essence, “This is a take on parenting today. It’s not just about entertaining the audience but also addressing important societal topics. There’s even a subplot inspired by real-life events called the 'pink case.’”

The role of a father has been portrayed by Dhawan with deep personal resonance. “When a man becomes a father to a girl child, you start realising what it means to be a man. It’s a transformative experience,” Dhawan shared.

His character, DIG Varadha Rajan, in Baby John is entirely original, something audiences haven’t seen before,” Dhawan said.
In addition to Salman Khan, Sanya Malhotra will make a special cameo appearance in the film.
