Recently an artist on Instagram named Laksh Maheshwari shared a video decoding the seven stages of love which are represented in the song ‘Satrangi Re’ from the movie ‘Dil Se..’

Laksh Maheshwari further reveals how Mani Ratnam changed Manisha Koirala‘s dress seven times in the song to portray these stages of love.
These seven stages are:
1. Dilkashi means attraction. Attraction is the feeling of being drawn to, interested in, or desiring someone in life.
2. Uns means infatuation. The condition of being entirely overcome by irrational feelings or love.
3. Ishq means love. Love is an emotion that connects two people with a feeling of deep affection and attraction.
4. Akidat means faith. Faith is a feeling of complete trust or confidence in someone or something.
5. Ibadat means worship. Worship means to express great affection and devotion for someone.
6. Junoon means madness. Love is a unique kind of divine madness that comes from the understanding of a more profound love.
7. Maut means death. It means a person can die for the one they love.
The words were beautifully written by lyricist Gulzar. And after this video people are seeing this music video differently as a result of his video.

=‘Dil Se..’ movie is directed by Mani Ratnam and was released in 1998. The movie stars Shah Rukh Khan and Manisha Koirala. The movie depicts the relationship between two characters from different states in India, showing how they are regarded as opposites by society and law. The song, ‘Satrangi Re’ is sung by Sonu Nigam and Kavita Krishnamurthy. The music is composed by AR Rahman and the lyrics are by Gulzar. The song is set against the arid and desolate backdrop of Ladakh.
The word ‘satrangi’ in the ‘Satrangi Re’ refers to seven colours, like a rainbow. We can see the female protagonist Meghna (Manisha Koirala) donning seven various colours in every stanza of the song. While the male protagonist Amar (Shah Rukh Khan) has worn a classy black throughout the last part, where both are dressed in white.
