Inside Akshay Kumar's Son Aarav's Down-to-Earth Lifestyle: Independent At 15, Wears Second-Hand Clothes

Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar is known for his disciplined lifestyle and humble nature, despite his massive success. In a recent appearance on Shikhar Dhawan's talk show 'Dhawan Karenge,' the actor revealed that his son Aarav has embraced a similarly down-to-earth approach to life.

During the show, Akshay shared that his son Aarav, who is currently studying at a university in London, decided to leave home at the age of 15. "He left home at the age of 15. He was always fond of studying and wanted to stay alone. It was his decision to move even though I didn't want him to go. However, I could not stop him because I left my home at the age of 14," the proud father revealed.

Akshay praised his son's practical and environmentally conscious lifestyle, stating, "He does his own laundry, he is a good cook, does the utensils, and doesn't even want to buy expensive clothes. In fact, he goes to a second-hand store, Thrifty, to buy clothes because he doesn't believe in wastage."

Contrary to expectations, Aarav has no interest in pursuing a career in Bollywood. "He is interested in fashion; he doesn't want to be a part of cinema. He came to me and said that I don't want to do films. I said this is your life, do what you want to do," Akshay shared, expressing his support for his son's career choice.

Akshay credited his wife, author Twinkle Khanna, for instilling values of simplicity in their children. "I am happy the way Twinkle and I have brought up Aarav; he is a very simple boy. My daughter, on the other hand, likes clothes," he said.

Like Father, Like Son

It's evident that Aarav has inherited his father's disciplined and grounded nature. Just like Akshay, a fitness enthusiast and martial arts expert, Aarav has already achieved two black belts and a yellow sash in Kung Fu at a young age.

Akshay Kumar and Twinkle Khanna exchanged vows in 2001 and were blessed with two children, Aarav and Nitara.

As for his career, Akshay Kumar is currently occupied with the upcoming film ‘Jolly LLB 3,’ starring Arshad Warsi.
