Aditi Saigal’s Music Career
Aditi Saigal commenced her piano journey at the tender age of six, delving into music composition by the age of 12. Originally from Delhi, (places to visit in Delhi) her musical voyage kicked off alongside artists from One World College of Music. During her college years, she ventured into singing as part of a band. In 2017, her career catapulted to success with the viral hit ‘Everybody Dances to Techno,’ amassing over 35,000 plays in a short period.
The debut EP, 'Khamotion,' surfaced in 2021, featuring compositions stemming from her final year at Bangor University. Influenced by artists like KT Tunstall, Peggy Lee, Ella Fitzgerald, Paulo Nutini, Fiona Apple, and Aretha Franklin, Aditi's original repertoire includes tracks like Alaw, Asymmetrical, Reassure Me, Unwanted Opinions, and Indigo.

Why Is Aditi Saigal's Moniker Dot?
In 2017, Aditi explained in an interview with Scroll how she came up with her stage name, Dot. When she was 10, she was colouring with her mom, and her mom started putting dots outside the lines. Aditi asked why, and her mom said, "Dots never hurt anyone, and they make things look interesting." Aditi liked that idea because a dot is small but important. It can become something special without trying to be something it's not. That's why she chose the name Dot for herself.
Aditi Saigal’s Personal Life
Aditi Dot, born in 1999, is the daughter of the late Amit Saigal and Shena Gamat. Amit Saigal, affectionately known as Papa Rock in India's rock music community, was a rock musician and the founder of India's first rock magazine, Rock Street Journal. Aditi's mother is also an actor and theatre practitioner. Aditi completed her schooling in India and later attended Bangor University in Wales, where she earned a degree in music and creative writing.
She was honoured with the Phillip Pascall Memorial Prize for Outstanding Overall Achievement in the School of Music. Following her time at Bangor University, she pursued a master's degree in curriculum and policy at Glasgow University. Aditi also mentioned in an interview with Verve that she worked as a data analyst for a year following her second year of university.
