Female Celebs Who Left Showbiz For A Spiritually Fulfilling Life

Here is a list of all the actresses who left the Bollywood industry for spiritual calling:

Barkha Madan

Barkha Madan, known for starring in popular Bollywood movies like ‘Khiladiyon Ka Khildadi’ alongside Akshay Kumar, Rekha, and Raveena Tandon and supernatural thrillers like ‘Bhoot’ adopted spirituality in 2012. In an interview with Deccan Chronicle, she shared how becoming a nun changed her life for good. "Life has become simpler. It does not take me more than 10 minutes to get ready, and all of my belongings fit into a single suitcase. I have just two robes, one pair of flip-flops, a laptop for accessing Buddhist texts, and a cellphone. I feel so free," she shared.

From being a bold TV personality to becoming a spiritual guru, Sofia Hayat completely transformed herself. She was last seen in Bigg Boss and even got engaged to someone shortly after. However in 2016, Sofia announced that she is leaving the showbiz world and becoming a nun. She also adopted the name Gaia Sofia Mother.

Talking to TOI once, Sofia said, “If you Google Kali Maa, you will find hundreds of pictures of her, nak*d...I took one of those pictures. A lot of people across the world follow me on social media and individuals who file such complaints are going to convey the message that Indians are backward and unintelligent. These people have no respect for Hinduism...they are just seeking publicity using my name. They don’t report hardcore pornography, but have an issue with my devotion.”
