Panikoorka, scientifically known as Plectranthus amboinicus and karpooravalli is a therapeutic herb. Majorly popular in Kerala this herb is known to treat several diseases in kids and is extensively used because of its healing properties. It can be taken in various forms such as decoction or powder. Moreover, Panikoorka oil is known to treat itchy, flaky scalp and hair fall issues. Applying this oil can strengthen hair strands and promote hair growth. How To Make Panikoorka Oil?

To begin with, you will need coconut oil and Panikoorka leaves. Follow the steps below to make the oil:

Clean The Panikoorka Leaves

Pluck a few Panikoorka leaves from the plant and wash it thoroughly under running water. Make sure the leaves are completely clean and dust-free.

Let The Leaves Dry

After washing the leaves with water, leave it in the air to let it dry.

Crush The Leaves

Once the leaves are dry, take a mortar and pestle to crush the leaves. This will extract the oil from the leaves.

Add Leaves To The Oil

Take a pan and heat coconut oil (benefits of grapeseed oil). Add the crushed Panikoorka leaves and stir the leaves in oil for 20 minutes.

Strain The Oil

Once you are done, let the oil (benefits of uisng mustard oil) dry and strain the oil using a mesh strainer, leaving the leaves behind. The oil will appear green in colour.

Store the oil in a glass jar in a cool and dark place.

How To Apply The Oil?

The best way to leverage the benefits of Panikoorka Oil is to apply it overnight. Gently massage the hair after applying the oil and leave it for half an hour. Rinse it off with mild shampoo.
