The summer season is here, and it has brought the time to enjoy swimming. We love to dive, swim and float in the pool. It provides some relief from the scorching heat of the sun.
However, with this amazing activity comes tanning that darkens your skin tone in patches. What would you say if we tell you that a few home remedies can help you get rid of the swimming tan? Let’s take a look!
Coffee & Coconut Oil
Coffee is an excellent exfoliator. You can use a coffee scrub on your hands, neck, back and legs. You can also mix coffee particles with coconut oil and keep scrubbing your skin for at least 5 minutes before rinsing it off.
Coconut oil will help repair the damage caused to the skin, and scrubbing will stimulate the blood flow. You can use this mixture at least twice a week to see visible effects on the dermal layer.
Potato & Gram Flour
Did you know that potato has natural bleaching properties? Well! Now you know. Hence, this mixture will help lighten the tan caused by swimming and the sun. The mixture only takes 5 minutes to prepare.
Take a medium boiled potato and grate it in a bowl. Add two tablespoons of curd, a tablespoon of gram flour and one tablespoon of honey. Mix the ingredients well and apply to the affected area. Leave the mixture to dry for at least 20 minutes, and rinse it off using cold water. You can apply this mixture twice or thrice a week.
Tomato & Sugar
We all know that tomato contains citric acid, and it has skin whitening properties. It is also one of the most common ingredients found at home. Therefore, women would not have to hassle to find the ingredients required to prepare a mixture using tomatoes.
Take a large tomato and grate it. Add two tablespoons of sugar and six drops of coconut oil or any other body oil. Mix the ingredients, and scrub the dermal layer using the paste. After 20 minutes, wash your body with cold water. You can repeat this tomato pack remedy three times a week.
Papaya & Gram Flour
Papaya fruit has many benefits for your skin. It contains a high amount of vitamins A, C and B. It keeps the skin moisturised and reduces the premature signs of ageing. It is also associated with some healing properties and works wonders for your hair. A papaya mask is famous for diminishing tan and reducing dark spots.
You can either directly rub the fruit pulp on the affected area or prepare a papaya mask. Take a tablespoon of papaya pulp and mash it. Add half a tablespoon of gram flour and one tablespoon of honey. Gently exfoliate the skin using the mixture and rinse it off with water after 5 minutes. You can repeat this remedy twice a week.

Masoor Dal & Curd
Crushed particles of masoor dal are excellent for exfoliating your skin. It is rich in vitamins and minerals that help bring back the natural glow on your face. It also boasts natural bleaching properties to help you get rid of tan. It also works effectively to reduce dark spots.

Grind a cup of lentils in a mixer. With two tablespoons of masoor dal (lentil) flour, add a tablespoon of curd. You can also add a pinch of turmeric powder and rose water. Mix it well and scrub the skin with it for two minutes. Rinse off the mixture with cold water. You will see an instant effect, and this mixture will also keep your skin moisturised.
