When we wake up in the morning our hair is often all over the place, tangles, frizzy and disheveled. Then you also notice broken hair strands and sulk. There are certain mistakes that you are making which you may not have realised. These mistakes are leading o your hair damage and you have to stop doing them asap! What are they? Read on to know.
Our hair breaks when it loses natural oils. They get tangled and weaken so a light tug and they break. Do not do these things which you most probably have been doing for a while now.
Ditch Cotton Pillowcases
If you have curly, wavy and dry hair then do remember that they tend to rub more on those cotton pillowcases as these cases absorb the natural oil in your hair, sucking them dry but taking in all the moisture. This leads to immense hair fall. So use a satin pillowcase or wrap a satin scarf around the pillow and then sleep.
Hair Braid
Not short hair but long hair takes the brunt when it tangles in the morning. If you have long tresses then it is important that you do not sleep with your hair open and instead braid them loosely not very tight and then sleep. Comb your hair to distribute the oils in the strands while braiding. This will retain moisture as well.

It is a very good practice if you oil your hair before sleeping. Also, invest in an organic hair oil or make your own at home. I prefer Argan oil as it brings back the lost moisture and saves it from tangling as well. Not just that, a good massage with this hair oil, you tend to sleep better as well.

Room Temperature
If you live in a warm place, or too cool a place, it is important that you find a way to normalise the room temperature. Extreme air conditions tend to strip your hair off the oils and tangle them as well.
Hair Mask
It is important that you once a week at least apply a hair mask. Apply it and keep it overnight so that it conditions the strands properly. Wear a shower cap and let the body heat give it a sauna or spa effect. This will soften the dryness and hydrate your crown properly.
