The ending of ‘Young Sherlock’ reveals a shocking betrayal where it is revealed that the villain is none other than Sherlock’s own father, Silas Holmes. This plot initially follows an assassin hunting Oxford professors over a chemical weapons program. Sherlock and James Moriarty discover that Silas was the mastermind behind the project, intending to sell the deadly gas to the highest bidder.

The mystery takes a shocking turn regarding Sherlock's sister, Beatrice. It is revealed that Silas faked Beatrice’s death and institutionalised their mother, Cordelia, to seize control of the family estate. Beatrice is found to be alive, working undercover as an assistant named Holly. Having been brainwashed by Silas to believe her family abandoned her, we get to see her initially side with him. Later, Beatrice realises the truth and eventually turns against him during the climax.
Towards the end of this show, the series concludes on a cliffside. We get to see Silas attempting to manipulate Sherlock’s morality one last time here. When Sherlock refuses to execute him in cold blood, Silas seizes control of the moment and plunges to his apparent death. The aftermath sees the conspiracy exposed, but leaves Sherlock forever changed, while James Moriarty begins his descent into cynicism, viewing Silas as a dark mentor.
