Netflix dropped the first teaser for You season 5 recently. Starring only Penn Badgley as Joe Goldberg, the short promotional video was a chilling watch. Featuring the charmer stalker inside the glass house that played a catalyst in his crimes and his iconic monologue, the teaser sure sets the ground for a exciting ending to the psychological thriller series.

You Season 5 First Teaser: 'Hello, You' To 'Goodbye, You' Was a Heady Ride

The teaser is 41 seconds long but Joe's portion lasts barely 20 seconds, but it is enough to send chills down your spine. That's because the clip features the iconic monologue in the killer stalker's deep, hoarse voice along with the glass chamber in which he cleaned his victims.

It starts with Joe looking straight at the camera from inside the chamber and the text "Hello, You" flashes on the screen with the actor's voice saying the same. The inner monologue then goes on to say, "Haven't we met? I'm sure we must have crossed paths...Perhaps I can refresh your memory...I'm Joe. Let's get to know each other better before we bid each other one last farewell."

"Goodbye, You," he says and the video closes. Aided with sinister background music, You season 5 teaser sure thrills you but hardly gives out anything. However, it retains the menacing tone the series is known for.

You Season 5: What Do We Know So Far

As for the plot, details are not out much but one thing is for sure: You season 5 will bid Joe a farewell fitting to his character and his misdeeds.

That's because, in this edition, he returns to New York City, where it all started for him. While Joe wants a peaceful life, his dark desires and evil past constantly throw him off the cliff.

Also, this time, he probably wants to get caught. Reason? We don't see Joe sporting any baseball cap to conceal his identity in the recent image shared by Netflix. In gist, You season 5 might spell his doom, but it waits to be seen what happens ultimately.

Apart from Penn Badgley as Joe Goldberg, You season 5 will see Madeline Brewer as Bronte, Anna Camp as Raegan and Maddie Lockwood, and Griffin Matthews as Teddy Lockwood.
