Ahead Of Netflix’s The Great Indian Kapil Show, Let Us Remember The Funniest Characters On TV Show

Netflix is bringing back the famous comedy talk show hosted by Kapil Sharma called ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’. The show will be premiering on March 30, 2024.

Kapil Sharma’s comedy talk show is getting another reincarnation as ‘The Great Indian Kapil Show’. The show that will be streaming on Netflix, was earlier being aired on TV as ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ On Sony and ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’ on Colors channel before that.

Ahead of the release of the Netflix comedy show, let us remember the funniest characters of the TV show who made us laugh till our bellies ached.

Gutthi

One of the characters whom we got to see in the earlier seasons of Kapil Sharma’s TV show is Gutthi. Played by Sunil Grover, he dressed up as a naive and funny girl who tied two pigtails, wore a salwar suit, sang songs in her off-tune voice and funnily danced around entertaining the audience.

Dr Mashoor Gulati

Yet another spectacular role played by Sunil Grover, Dr Mashoor Gulati was a character in ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’. He was a fraud doctor who ran a clinic in the neighbourhood. This character aimed to seem a little disgusting and extremely funny, which he succeeded in portraying.

Rinku Devi

Sunil Grover cross-dressed to become the ravishing Rinku Devi. He was draped in a saree and wore sindoor (vermillion), a bindi, and lipstick on his manly build, which added to more comedy. Rinku Bhabhi’s character gained even more fame with the satirical song ‘Mere Husband Mujhko Pyaar Nahi Karte’.

Palak

Gutthi and Palak were the perfect pair in the initial seasons of ‘The Kapil Sharma Show’ On Sony and ‘Comedy Nights with Kapil’. Played by Kiku Sharda, Palak was a bubbly young girl who dressed up similarly to Gutthi. The duo would put on snippets to make everyone laugh.

Chandu

Kapil Sharma and his family’s house help named Chandu was played by Chandan Prabhakar. He was a fun character who was often roasted by Sharma himself.

Dadi

The initial seasons of the TV show introduced Kapil Sharma’s Dadi played by Ali Asgar. She was known for her funny punchlines and famous hook steps.

Pinky Bua

Played by Upasana Singh, Pinky Bua was Kail Sharma’s aunt in the initial seasons. She was a woman who was desperate to find love in every man she saw.
