Mercy OTT Release Date in India: All about Chris Pratt starring American Sci-fi Thriller

The 2026 science fiction American thriller, Mercy, featuring Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson, is now streaming on Amazon Prime Video for rent. Available in multiple languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam, the film blends the dilemmas of advanced technologies. Directed by Timur Bekmambetov and written by Marco van Belle, the film explains a near-future where artificial intelligence (AI) has replaced traditional legal proceedings.

Mercy OTT Release Date in India

After completing its theatrical release on January 23, 2026, worldwide, the film has been made available on Amazon Prime Video starting February 17, 2026, for its Indian audiences. Currently, the film is on rent and can be watched in different languages, including Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Mercy's Storyline

Starring Chris Pratt and Rebeca Ferguson, the film revolves around Detective Christopher "Chris" Raven, who is accused of a violent crime, murdering his own wife. He is given just 90 minutes to prove his innocence in a world ruled and governed by cold data. However, the trial and proceedings go through many ups and downs as there are no lawyers or judges; instead, Raven's future depends on an advanced AI system's verdict.

Chris Pratt’s take on AI

While explaining the 90-minute courtroom drama with AI, Chris shares, "I have never played a character like this before, in a genre like this." He was locked in the chair for over 50 minutes, for which she mentioned, "I thought this would help me end itself to the performance, and feelings of claustrophobia and being trapped. I was sweating, so if my face itched, I couldn't scratch it, and I couldn't get up." He further emphasized that AI, created by the "brokenness of man," should assist rather than substitute for human empathy and creativity.

Mercy Hit or Flop?

With an estimated production budget of $60 million, the film grossed approximately $53 million worldwide, which is considered a 'flop' at the box office. However, it dethroned Avatar: Fire and Ash in its opening weekend. Being a mix of action, technology, science fiction, thriller, and suspense-driven plot, it is becoming a fans favortive on screens.
