The Malayalam film industry builds on its remarkable 2024 success with an equally promising 2025. Following acclaimed releases like ‘Manjummel Boys’, ‘Aavesham’, and ‘Kishkindha Kaandam’ last year, the industry opened 2025 with stellar films, including ‘Rekhachithram’ in the first week of January.

Flask OTT Release

‘Flask’ arrives on Manorama Max on September 4, 2025, starring Saiju Kurup and Suresh Krishna in lead roles. The comedy drama follows an unconventional storyline that blends humour with intense situations.

The film centres on Jyothi Kumar, who joins the police service despite harbouring dreams of becoming a singer. Kumar receives an assignment as a personal security guard to the arrogant judge Venkitesh Balaji. Their lives take a dangerous turn when a Maoist group under Commander Ganeshan kidnaps them both.

Raveendra Nee Evide OTT Release

‘Raveendra Nee Evide?’ becomes available on Saina Play and Prime Video from September 5, 2025, onwards. Director Manoj Palodan helms this comedy that explores suburban chaos and misunderstandings.

The story follows senior scientist Raveendran and his family, whose peaceful lives become chaotic after the arrival of his neighbour John. A series of incidents involving misunderstandings, kidnapping, and resulting confusion drives the comedy plot forward.

Kammatam OTT Release

The six-episode murder mystery ‘Kammatam’ starts streaming on ZEE5 from September 5, 2025, onwards. Director Shan Thulasidharan crafts this investigative thriller around suspicious circumstances.

Circle inspector Antonio George leads the investigation following a man's death in what appears to be a road accident. The series stars Sudev Nair, Jins, and Jeo Baby in key roles, bringing depth to the mystery elements and investigative procedures.
