One of the most-awaited titles this week is ‘Maareesan’, originally a Tamil film starring Fahadh Faasil and Vadivelu. Netflix has confirmed that ‘Maareesan’ will premiere on August 22, 2025. It will be available in Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. Sharing the update, Netflix India wrote, “Get in, guys, we are going to Thiruvannamalai. Watch Maareesan on Netflix, out 22 August in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam!”

Thalaivan Thalaivi OTT Release

Another major release is ‘Thalaivan Thalaivi’, directed by Pandiraj and starring Vijay Sethupathi alongside Nithya Menen. The film, which released in theatres on July 25, 2025, marks the first collaboration between the two acclaimed actors.

Declared a box office success after recovering its production cost, the Tamil film will premiere on Amazon Prime Video from August 22, 2025.
