Khauf Trailer: Rajat Kapoor Helps Monika Panwar, Chum Darang Battle Sinister Spirit In Prime Video's Horror Series

Khauf Trailer: What Does It Show?

The trailer for Khauf doesn't waste time in establishing the spine-chilling moments the show will offer once it hits Amazon Prime Video. It starts with a young girl named Madhu (Panwar) shifting her base to another city to run away from the difficult or traumatic memories of her past.

She takes refuge in a women's hostel where the co-boarders warn her of ominous spirits lurking around and ask her to leave without further delay. Madhu, of course, doesn't pay heed and continues staying there. Eventually, an evil spirit does capture Madhu and takes her under complete control, giving rise to several blood-curdling sequences.

We learn that her co-boarders have never left the hostel because they can't. Every time they try to step out, the sinister force exercises a firmer hold on them. Enter Gracie (Kapoor), who people call "doctor," and we see why.

"Ek wo duniya hai jo aap dekh sakte ho aur ek wo duniya hai jo main mehsoos kar sakta hoon (There's a world that you can see and then there's a world that I can sense)," he says, and we see how he performs his rituals and makes medicines using things like scorpions in a mortar-pestle. He informs that there's a "restless spirit" lingering in the hostel and that she's there to cause havoc.

And the "havoc" she creates! The glimpses we get in the trailer, admittedly, have us all excited for Khauf to release. Finally, the genre of suspense horror truly has something to look forward to.

The gist for the eight-part original series, according to Prime Video, reads:

"Khauf is a suspense horror drama set in a women's hostel, surrounded by dense wilderness, the bone-chilling narrative follows Madhu, a young woman seeking refuge in a new city to escape the demons of her past. However, she soon realizes that her new room harbors secrets far more terrifying than she could have imagined. Under the garb of normalcy, there’s horror that lurks through, something that reeks of death and preys on her deepest insecurities and fears. As the sinister force tightens its grip, Madhu’s reality twists into a waking nightmare—one from which there may be no escape."

Apart from Panwar, Darang, and Kapoor, Khauf also has Geetanjali Kulkarni, Shilpa Shukla, Abhishek Chauhan, Priyanka Setia, Rashmi Zurail Mann, Riya Shukla, Aasheema Vardaan, Shalini Vatsa, Gagan Arora, and Satyam Sharma in the cast.

Directed by Pankaj Kumar and Surya Balakrishnan, Khauf releases on Prime Video on April 18, 2025.
