Suriya's highly anticipated period drama Kanguva will hit theatres worldwide on November 14, 2024, following a strategic delay from its initial October release date. The film, which was previously set to clash with Rajinikanth's Vettaiyan, now enjoys a solo release window in Tamil Nadu.

The ambitious project spans an impressive 11,000 screens globally, reaching audiences in eight languages. Beyond its regional Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, and Kannada versions, the film extends its reach through Hindi, English, French, and Spanish translations, marking one of Indian cinema's most extensive multilingual releases. The film has received a U/A certification from the censor board, making it suitable for all audiences.

Kanguva OTT Tentative Release Date and Streaming Platform

As per reports, Prime Video has secured the post-theatrical streaming rights for Kanguva in a landmark deal worth ₹100 crore. Digital audiences can expect the film to premiere on the platform approximately 40 days after its theatrical run concludes.

Suriya headlines the film in a dual role, portraying both the ancient warrior Kanguva and a contemporary character named Francis. The project marks the Tamil cinema debut of Bollywood actors Bobby Deol and Disha Patani, alongside veteran performers Yogi Babu, Natarajan Subramaniam, Redin Kingsley, Kovai Sarala, Anandaraj, and K S Ravikumar.

In Kanguva,Suriya takes on two roles, one as the titular character set thousands of years in the past and another as a present-day character named Francis. The film explores the intertwining fates of these two characters across time. The production travelled extensively across India, capturing sequences in Chennai, Kerala, and Kodaikanal, among other locations. With its budget of ₹350 crore, Kanguva is expected to be one of the most expensive films in Tamil cinema history.
