Best Dialogues From 'Gullak'

In a scene that perfectly captures the allure of a delicious homemade treat, Shanti Mishra, the loving matriarch of the family, warns her children.

Mummy: “Khabardaar agar kheer ko kisi ne haath lagaya toh." (Beware if anyone touches the kheer.) To which Aman, the younger son, cleverly responds, “Haan toh chammach sae khayenge…haath nahi lagayenge." (Yes, we'll eat it with a spoon…won't touch it with our hands.)

The relationship between siblings Annu and Aman is a constant source of laughter and heartwarming moments throughout the series.

In one scene, Annu complains about the repetitive meals: "Annu: Mummy fir sae wohi…aalu daalke peele chawal…" (Mom, again the same…rice with potatoes…) "

Mummy: Tehri bolte hai usse…" (It's called Tehri…) "

Annu: Tehri nahi disappointment bolte hai usse!" (It's not Tehri, it's called disappointment!)

Despite their constant teasing and bickering, Annu and Aman share a deep bond of brotherhood.

In a touching scene, Annu asks Aman: "Annu: Taango mein dard ho raha hai kya tumhare?" (Are your legs hurting?) "

Aman: Nahi…kyu?" (No…why?) "

Annu: "Adaa nahi rahe aajkal kisi baat poe?" (You're not being sassy about anything lately?)

Santosh Mishra, the patriarch of the family, is known for his wise and often humorous advice. In one scene, he compares his son's struggles to that of horses: "Logo ka mukabala duniya sae hai, tumhara ghodo sae hai. Ghode khade khade so lete hain. Tum padhte padhte so lete ho." (People compete with the world, you compete with horses. Horses can sleep while standing, but you fall asleep while studying.)

When Annu receives his first salary, the entire family is overjoyed. Aman, in a moment of pure excitement, reminds Annu, "Humare paas toh paise nahi hai na. Paise toh tumhi ko dene hai. Pehli baar salary aayi hai. Tumhare chhote bhai hai, humare liye bhi toh kuch socho." (We don't have money. You have to give us money. It's your first salary. You have a younger brother, think about us too.)
