In a powerful return to the screen, acclaimed actor Manoj Bajpayee portrays Joy, an intrepid journalist fighting for truth in the upcoming thriller Despatch. Directed by Kanu Behl, the film explores the intersection of traditional journalism and the challenges posed by the digital revolution.

The newly released teaser introduces viewers to Joy's dangerous world of investigative journalism. The dramatic opening sequence shows his apartment under attack, with rocks shattering window panes during a quiet evening. An anonymous caller delivers a chilling warning: "Pack up and go home. NOW!" Despite the threat, Joy stands firm in his pursuit of truth.

At the heart of the narrative lies Joy's investigation into a massive financial scandal. "I can have six stories, but what's most valuable is information," emphasises a character, highlighting journalism's ethical foundation. The stakes escalate when Joy uncovers an ₹8,000 crore scam, leading to intimidation attempts.

A character warns Joy, "You will be slapped with so many cases Joy sir, it'll take you seven generations and 150 years to fight them." Joy's response, cut short in the teaser, begins with "Once the story is out..."

The film has already garnered attention at prestigious film festivals. Following its premiere at the MAMI Mumbai International Film Festival, Despatch was featured at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in Goa. Audiences nationwide can stream the thriller on ZEE5 starting December 13.
