Bridgerton Season 5: After the forbidden romance of Benedict and Sophie, ‘Bridgerton’ is bridging you another season. The recent ‘Bridgerton’ season five announcement has taken over the intent and it is safe to say that fans are excited to see what story will take centre place in this upcoming season. We will be focusing on Francesca this season and see her enter a new chapter of her life after her husband, John’s sudden passing. Being the introverted, shy persona she has, stepping back into the marriage mart might not be as easy as it looks. This fifth season will also take a little time jump. Bridgerton Season 5 Announced

While fans were still trying to process watching the fourth season of this Regency period drama, Netflix decided to drop the announcement for ‘Bridgerton’ season five. Much to the fans' disappointment, the fifth season will not focus on Eloiuse’s love life; instead, it will revolve around the new chapter in her reserved sister Francesca’s life.

Bridgerton Season 4 Recap

The fourth season of ‘Bridgerton’ revolved around the love life of the second-oldest Bridgerton child, Benedict Bridgerton. After trying to escape marriage altogether for the previous season, this is the first time he is trying to find his one true match. We got to see Benedict have a forbidden romance full of secrets, drama and love with a new character, Sophie Baek (Yerin Ha). After going through enough chaos and drama, the two finally find their happily ever after towards the end of this season. Fans can also expect to see Benedict and Sophie’s wedding in the upcoming fifth season of ‘Bridgerton’.

Bridgerton Season 5 Possible Plot: Francesca's New Love Life 

With season four, we saw the storyline revolve around Benedict and his forbidden romance with Sophie. Towards the end of that season, the tremendous loss of John’s passing was also shown to fans. With her husband gone, Fran was left all alone as the Countess of Kilmartin. In the fifth season of ‘Bridgeryon’, we will see a slight time jump of two years and see Francesa stepping back into the marriage market for practical reasons only. 

We see John’s cousin Michaela return to London to tend to the Kilmartin estate. With Michaela’s return, Francesca’s complicated feelings for her will have her questioning everything. Should she stick to her practical motive of finding a new husband or pursue her inner passions to give love another chance? Bridgerton Depicting Queer Love

While this new season will be focusing on the new romance between Francesca and Michaela, this isn’t the first time ‘Bridgerton’ has depicted queer love. In earlier seasons, we have seen side characters hiding the truth of who they are. One couple that everyone was always rooting for was Brimsley and Reynolds from the ‘Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story’. The secret relationship between the Queen and King's respective right-hand men narrated the happiness and the dangers of Regency-era homosexuality. We have also seen Benedict trying to explore his sexuality in the third season of this drama by being in a throuple with Lady Tilley Arnold and Paul Suarez.

Fans are really excited to see the romance stir up between Francesca and Michaela this season. We hope to see ‘Bridgerton’ season five soon and show our love to this adorable new queer couple!
