Ankita Lokhande In Amrapali

Ankita Lokhande first rose to fame after her impactful work in the TV serial ‘Pavitra Rishta’ opposite the late actor and her ex-boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput. After a career slowdown, she again gained back traction after appearing in ‘Bigg Boss 13’ followed by her significant role in the Randeep Hooda starrer ‘Swatantra Veer Savarkar’. Her recent shot at success has finally led her to the biggest break of her career as she steps in the shoes of a royal courtesan Amrapali who left her life of glamour and luxury to become a Buddhist nun.  

The filmmaker Sandeep Singh announced the news on his Instagram in a collaborative post with Ankita Lokhande, her husband Vicky Jain, and production house Legend Studios. The captions read, “Presenting @lokhandeankita as #Amrapali, the epitome of strength, grace, and resilience. This captivating series delves into the untold saga of the royal courtesan, revealing her journey filled with emotions and challenges. Stay tuned for this grand spectacle, produced by @officiallegendstudios The series marks the much-awaited comeback of the musical maestro @ismaildarbarofficial.”

Ismail Darbar’s Comeback 

We all have heard the legendary songs of Sanjay Leela Bhansali movies like ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’ and ‘Devdas’. There is no denying in how often we still love to tune into ‘Silsila Ye Chahat Ka’ and ‘Chand Chupa Badal Mein’. The music composer behind these heartfelt melodies is none other than Ismail Darbar. 

After a long hiatus, he will be back in the industry to create more legendary songs with the Ankita Lokhande starrer ‘Amrapali’. In an interview, he mentioned, “After Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam and Devdas, Amrapali will be the most challenging musical journey for me because this story is about a dancer who, disheartened with life, adopts spiritualism. There will be ten songs of various hues capturing the opulence and the divinity of Amrapali.”
