Shreya Dhanwanthary, the actor who predominantly works in the Telugu film industry, has been making headlines for her acting skills in several recent Hindi films and series. Currently, netizens and critics are all praises of her roles in the latest Hindi film Chup: Revenge of the Artist.
Dhanwanthary stole everyone’s heart with her portrayal of a journalist in the Dulquer Salmaan starrer Chup: Revenge of the Artist. The film also stars Sunny Deol and Pooja Bhatt in pivotal roles. The film is a tribute to actor and filmmaker Guru Dutt revolving around a psychopath killer who is targeting film critics in the city of Mumbai. Film critics are being murdered week after week with the release of a new film in a bizarre series of events and the Mumbai Crime Branch is tasked to solve the case with the help of a criminal psychologist.

Born in Hyderabad and brought-up in the Middle East and Delhi, Dhanwanthary is an engineering graduate from NIT Warangal and debuted in the Telugu film industry in 2009 with the film Josh followed by the 2010 film Sneha Geetham. She made her Bollywood debut with the Hindi film Why Cheat India in 2019.
However, she rose to fame and became popular with her portrayal of Zoya, a police subordinate, in the Amazon Prime Video series The Family Man starring Manoj Bajpayee in the lead. She next appeared in the 2020 Hindi web series Scam 1992, starring Pratik Gandhi, which garnered a lot of critical acclaims. She played the role of journalist Sucheta Dalal. The series is based on the 1992 Indian stock market scam committed by many stockbrokers including Harshad Mehta and is adapted from journalist Dalal and Debashish Basu's 1992 book The Scam: Who Won, Who Lost, Who Got Away.
The actor then appeared in the 2021 Amazon Prime Video series Mumbai Diaries 26/11 where she once again played a journalist.

In an interview with the Hindustan Times, the actor spoke about her struggles in making her own space in the entertainment industry. “I took 10 years to make my first film. It was ridiculously difficult. Don't ask me how I did it. I don't know how I did it. I don't know how I stayed here, how I continued staying here...not having the money, to almost being homeless, to stay hungry for a long time. I don't know how I did it, some sort of psychosis for sure.”

After the success of Chup: Revenge of the Artist, Dhananwanthary is also set to appear in the upcoming Netflix series Guns & Gulaabs starring Salmaan, Rajkumar Rao and Adarsh Gourav.
