Pragya Samal’s academic prowess has earned her admission offers from esteemed institutions such as Columbia Law School, Chicago Law School, Carey Law School, Berkeley Law School, and Michigan Law School. During her time at Amity Law School, Noida, she consistently topped the merit list in the three-year LLB course (Padma Lakshmi Scripts History, Becomes Kerala's First Transgender Lawyer), earning her a gold medal.
Berkeley Law School extended a scholarship offer of $30,000 to Pragya, while Michigan Law School sweetened the deal with a $50,000 scholarship.

Originating from Sunapal village in Odisha's Jajpur district, Pragya's father, Ajay Samal, initially worked with the Aditya Birla group before joining the Supreme Court staff in 1996.
