Going for a virtual invitation card is a great idea. You can also go with opting for invitations made using recycled paper, upcycled fabric, leather, and even wood. There are many celebrities who went with this great technique. Actress Sonam Kapoor opted for a virtual or e- invite for their wedding while Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma and cricketer Virat Kohli gifted a sapling along with their wedding invite to the guests. Similarly, TV actors Rubina and Abhinav opted for a biodegradable wedding invite like Virat-Anushka, made from MDF and recyclable paper. Along with that, they also attached a sapling.
There are a variety of biodegradable materials that you can use instead of plastics for a more environmentally friendly wedding. In one of the wedding receptions, Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh also opted for this method and had a fully plastic free reception, instead of plastic they used biodegradable tableware products. You can use steel or any other reusable cutlery for serving food.

Select a venue with an element you can use as a part of decoration. For example, Dia Mirza chose her garden of the house as the wedding venue. She used her favourite Mango tree as a part of the decor which looked absolutely gorgeous. You can do the same at a similar place. Also, ensure the ceremony is without plastics or any type of waste. Instead go for biodegradable and natural.
Go with a unique idea of biodegradable and organic attire and stun everyone. Just like Milind Soman and Ankita Konwar who went with 'bamboo-silk textile' outfits, you can do that too. The actor Milind Soman and wife Ankita Konwar went with organic, handwoven and 100% biodegradable outfits. They even opted for head jewelleries which were made with baby lotuses.
The activity that impressed us all by the couple was that they planted a tree for each guest, who attended their marriage, as a tribute to Mother Nature. These activities in the wedding might not be too much but surely contributes a lot to mother earth.

Discarded food, decor, and flowers are among the most common wastages at weddings. Instead of throwing it in the garbage, think about donating it. The decorations can also be resold.
