The foldable smartphone segment in India is about to witness a new player as Vivo gears up to unveil its highly anticipated Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, according to reports from India Today. While an exact launch date remains elusive, speculation suggests this AI-powered foldable marvel could hit the Indian market as early as June.
As per India Today, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, introduced globally in March 2023, could boast specifications akin to its international counterpart. One of the standout features mentioned is the device's innovative carbon fibre hinge mechanism, dubbed the "Carbon Fibre Keel component," which promises both lightweight portability and robust durability, withstanding up to 500,000 folds – approximately 12 years of reliable use.
Quoting India Today, the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro is expected to feature dual displays, including a 6.53-inch cover display and an impressive 8.03-inch inner AMOLED LTPO folding display. Both screens are rumoured to support a resolution of 2480 x 2200 pixels, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and cutting-edge technologies like Dolby Vision and HDR10+, with a peak brightness of 4,500 nits.

Under the hood, the X Fold 3 Pro is anticipated to be powered by the formidable Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC, complemented by an Adreno GPU for superior graphics performance.
India Today reports the device could offer up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS4.0 storage, ensuring smooth and efficient operation. Additionally, the phone is expected to run out of the box on OriginOS 4, based on Android 14.
As highlighted by India Today, photography enthusiasts will appreciate the sophisticated camera setup on the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro, featuring ZEISS optics. It boasts a 50-megapixel ultra-sensing primary camera with OIS, a 64-megapixel 3x telephoto lens, and a 50-megapixel ultra-wide lens, complemented by a 32-megapixel front camera for selfies and video calls.
While the Vivo X Fold 3 Pro is expected to be available through Flipkart, Vivo India's online store, and offline retail channels, its pricing remains speculative. However, India Today suggests that based on its 9,999 yuan (approximately ₹1.17 lakh) cost in China, the device could be priced under ₹1.5 lakh in India.
