Rahul Kaushik, the Corporate Executive Chef and his team at Foodlink were the ‘culinary kings’ behind the gala wedding of actors Deepika Padukone and Ranveer Singh in Italy and India. The picturesque Villa del Balbianello overlooking Lake Como, Italy was their abode for their five-day marriage and were treated to sumptuous meals over the course. Deepika and Ranveer who chose to exchange vows according to both Konkani and Sindhi ways had their very close friends and family members at the beautiful locale.
According to reports, both the starlets were highly involved in crafting of the menu which was served during their sojourn in Italy. Sanjay Vazirani owned Foodlink team was appraised on both Deepika’s and Ranveer’s favourite foods and special care was taken in creating the spectacular spread on all the days in Italy.
The five-day wedding had a multi-cuisine spread laid out for the guests ranging from Punjabi, South Indian, Sindhi along with an international twist to the menu. Among the Indian dishes, which were laid out were Makkai di Roti, Dal Makhani, Dal Pakwan, Bhooga Chawal, Jalebi and Mal Pua. Deepika, who is known to have a sweet tooth, relished on the Special Gulab Jamun prepared for her by the team.
Ranveer, a foodie himself enjoyed Veg and Non-Veg Kathi Rolls along with a variety of Kebabs. Many of the ingredients were shipped from India to Italy days prior to their landing to ensure all ingredients were available in the kitchen.
It was the same team which crafted the menu for the reception in Bengaluru and on three dates in Mumbai with their wedding celebrations culminating with another reception on December 1 which had the entire film industry.
From their clothes to the decor to the food being served, people had been waiting for every little detail of the wedding. We managed to gather details about the cuisine served at one of the most high profile weddings of the year. According to reports, the menu was an interesting combination just like the newlyweds. North and South Indian culture came together even for the cuisines. Yes, the menu had both North and South Indian cuisines on separate days based on the wedding theme.

The Bollywood power couple married in a traditional Konkani ceremony on November 14 followed by a Sindhi wedding on November 15 in the presence of their family members and close friends in Italy's Villa Del Balbianello overlooking Lake Como. From Idly, Vada, Dosa to Punjabi cuisine, every possible dish will be served for the guests. Apart from traditional North and South Indian food, separate counters for continental and finger foods will be arranged to cater to every guest’s taste preferences.
On the Konkani wedding ceremony, Konkani Mangalorean delicacies were served. From Rasam, Dalitoy, Bibbe Upkari to Puliogare were served on a sturdy Banana leaf. We already know Deepika can't do without a cup of steaming her favourite filter coffee, a strong coffee flavoured decoction, was flown in from Bangalore to Italy and was served as the welcome drink for the guest in traditional Dabarah and tumblers, according to the Bollywood Paparazzi Manav Manglani.
On the couple's Sindhi wedding ceremony, lunch was organised for both the families and friends. Authentic Sindhi delicacies like Koki, Dal Pakwan, Sev Barfi and Rabdi was served. For the desserts, chefs were flown in from Switzerland to make scrumptious desserts and to bake the main wedding cake for Deepika and Ranveer.
