India is home to beautiful temples. There are different temples across the country dedicated to different gods, but the one thing that remains common in all the holy shrines is the prasad they offer. The first thing that comes to our minds when we think of Prasad is any sweet dish. However, there are some temples in India that are popular mainly for their unique prasad offerings. From Aloo puri ki sabzi to liquor, here is a list of temples that offer unique prasad.
Temples Offering Unique Prasad
Shri Banke Bihari, Vrindavan
Dedicated to Lord Krishna, this temple is famous for Maakhan Mishri and Peda, which are made from pure cow milk. Maakhan Mishri is served in small clay pots handmade by local artisans. Interestingly, the first offering of the day to Lord Krishna is known as 'Bal Bhog,' comprising kachori, dry potato curry, and besan laddoo.
Mata Vaishnao Devi, Katra, Jammu
You can enjoy two types of prasad here. The first is a small packet of Mishri that includes a silver coin with deities imprinted on it. The second prasad available here is a mixture of puffed rice, dried apple, dried coconut, and cardamom seeds. These offerings are beautifully presented in eco-friendly jute bags.
