While the whole nation is still mourning the demise of actor Sushant Singh Rajput even almost after a month of his death, its time that we pay our last tributes to the actor by watching his final film, Dil Bechara. The movie whose release has been postponed multiple times in the past is now all set to release at 7:30 pm, today on an online platform, Disney+ Hotstar. The flick will premiere not only in India but also on Hotstar in the USA, UK, and Canada. Subscribers and the non-subscribers will be able to watch the film.
Taking to their official Twitter handle, the online streaming platform announced the news last month. “A story of love, hope, and endless memories. Celebrating the late #SushantSinghRajput's legacy that will be etched in the minds of all and cherished forever. #DilBechara coming to everyone on July 24,” said the post. While some of the fans seem excited and happy, others are demanding to release Sushant's film on big screens.

“Please Release It On Big Screen If Possible..This Is His Last Fillm Plz Give It Some Respect..We R Waiting Untill The covid Situation are improved..Slightly smiling face,” wrote one fan. “No, No, And a big No. We want to watch this film on theatre and not on digital platform,” said another fan of the actor who died of depression.

Helmed by debutant director Mukesh Chhabra, Dil Bechara is the official remake of John Green’s bestselling novel The Fault In Our Stars that was published in 2012. There is also a Hollywood film has been made based on the novel with the same title. The movie that went on to become a big hit starring actors Shailene Woodley, Ansel Elgort, and Nat Wolff.
Saif Ali Khan and debutante Sanjana Sanghi will also be seen in Dil Bechara alongside Sushant. The film's shoot commenced on 9 July 2018 in Jamshedpur, is featuring the late actor as Manny, who loses a leg due to bone cancer. His character is of a charming young man, who helps Kizie, played by Sanjana to overcome depression. As per the plot of the novel, Manny’s health worsens at the end that leads to his death later.
The sudden demise of the actor not just left his family, friends, and fans in shock, but his colleagues are also devastated. Reportedly, in a statement the film’s director Mukesh said, “Sushant was not just the hero of my debut film as a director, but he was a dear friend who stood by me through thick and thin”
“We had been close right from Kai Po Che to Dil Bechara. He had promised me that he would be in my first film. So many plans were made together, so many dreams were dreamt together but never once did I ever imagine that I would be left alone to release this film. He always showered immense love on me while I was making it and his love will guide us as we release it,” he added. Sanjana also took to social media platforms to post an emotional video, in which she shared her experience of shooting with Sushant.
