Shark Tank India Season 2: The Show Is Back With A New Shark

The business reality show, Shark Tank India that gained popularity with its first season is coming back for season two, and its promo was released on Tuesday.

The premiere date of Shark Tank India season two has not been announced by the channel yet, but as per reports, it could air some time this year by late-November or early December.

Many doubted its success because it was based on Shark Tank, an American reality show aired by ABC. However, all the sceptics were proved wrong as the show earned a sizable TRP for Sony Entertainment Television. It is predicted that the show would be bigger and better this season with most of the sharks aka judges returning, except Ashneer Grover (co-founder of fintech platform BharatPe) and Ghazal Alagh (co-founder of Mamaearth). Grover will be missed for his blunt replies, while Alagh’s non-presence might be a dealbreaker for her fans, who loved her soft-spokenness.

The promo starts with a woman standing before a grocery vendor and chatting with the vegetable seller about vegetable prices and how low they are. She makes fun of the vendor and criticises him by saying that his whole cart is not worth more than ₹70.

The calm and composed seller then begins to explain his business model and states that his cart is worth more than ₹70 lakh, which leaves the woman shocked. The way the seller argues about his business’ valuation is something that happens in the actual show.

Furthermore, the promo makes the audience aware of the pivotal change the show has ushered into the popular conscious, where budding entrepreneurs can present their ideas for startups to the judges and gain funding from them. Some lucky pitchers also secure investment from more than one shark.

It is a thought-provoking reality show that allows ordinary people to start their own businesses and achieve their goals of becoming entrepreneurs.

Judges In Shark Tank India Season 2

The five sharks returning this season are Aman Gupta (co-founder of boAT), Anupam Mittal (founder and CEO of Shaadi.com), Namita Thapar ( Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals), Vineeta Singh (co-founder and CEO of SUGAR Cosmetics), and Peyush Bansal (founder and CEO of Lenskart.com. A new shark will be joining – Amit Jain (CEO and co-founder of CarDekho Group and InsuranceDekho.com).

Host For The Show

Previous host Rannvijay Singha will be replaced by stand-up comedian Rahul Dua, who might increase the fun and entertainment factor.
