Shah Rukh Khan Performs Umrah In Mecca, Proud Fans React

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan was spotted at Mecca after he wrapped up the shoot for his upcoming film Dunki, which has been shot in Saudi Arabia. Several photographs and videos of him came up online, performing the Umrah (Islamic pilgrimage). Soon, he will be seen attending the Red Sea Film Festival in Jeddah.

Khan was spotted donning a Rida and Izar, and was dressed in all white. He also had his face covered in a mask. He was guarded by security personnel on all sides.

Many of his fans took to the comment section of the viral photos. One of them wrote, “I am feeling too emotional right now. May Allah keep him and his family safe and protected.” “So happy to see him fulfilling his wish of visiting his holy place,” wrote another user. An SRKian even commented, “This just made me so happy. May Allah accept his prayers and guide us all.” A lot of his fans even dropped heart emojis for the actor.

After shooting Dunki, posting a video on Instagram from the shoot location, Khan thanked Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Culture and the film’s crew for making it a successful project.

Amid the Arabian desert, wearing a black coat and black sunglasses, Khan said that it was lovely shooting Dunki and was gracious that the Saudi government allowed them to shoot at the ‘spectacular locations’ of the country.

Several Bollywood celebrities from Aamir Khan to Dilip Kumar have performed the Hajj and Umrah in the past.

Earlier during an interview with Times of India, Khan said that Hajj was definitely on his agenda. “I would like to go there with my son Aryan and daughter Suhana,” he added. It is unconfirmed whether Suhana is at Mecca with him.

His much-awaited film, Pathaan will be released on January 25. Dropping a new poster for the upcoming action thriller, Khan excited all his fans. The film is directed by Siddharth Anand, and also stars Deepika Padukone and John Abhraham in pivotal roles. Meanwhile, Dunki directed by Rajkumar Hirani will release in theatres in December next year. Taapsee Pannu will be the leading lady of the film.

Khan will also appear in filmmaker Atlee’s Jawan alongside Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi. The film is set to release in five languages – Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu and Kannada in theatres globally on June 2, 2023.
