Samantha Ruth Prabhu, the South Indian actor who recently ventured into Bollywood, has been diagnosed with Myositis, an autoimmune disease. As the actor took to social media to share the news, several celebrities from the film industry extended their support to the actor including actor Nagarjuna’s son and her former husband Naga Chaitanya’s half-brother Akhil Akkineni and actor Chiranjeevi.
“All the love and strength to you dear Sam," wrote Akhil, the actor and Samantha’s former brother-in-law. While Chiranjeevi wrote, “Dear Sam, From time to time, challenges do come in our lives, perhaps to allow us discover our own inner strength. You are a wonderful girl with an even greater inner strength. I am sure, you shall overcome this challenge too, Very soon! Wishing you all the courage and continued!May the Force be with you!”

Sharing a picture from amidst her treatment process, Samantha wrote, “A few months back I was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition called Myositis. I was hoping to share this after it had gone into remission. But it is taking a little longer than I hoped. I am slowly realising that we don’t always need to put up a strong front. Accepting this vulnerability is something that I am still struggling with.”
She further mentioned, “The doctors are confident that I will make a complete recovery very soon. I have had good days and bad days…. physically and emotionally…. and even when it feels like I can’t handle one more day of this, somehow that moment passes. I guess it can only mean that I am one more day closer to recovery.

Expressing her gratitude towards her fans for showering love on the trailer of her upcoming film Yashoda, the actor wrote, “Your response to the Yashodha Trailer was overwhelming. It is this love and connection that I share with all of you, that gives me the strength to deal with the seemingly unending challenges that life throws at me. I love you.. ♥️ THIS TOO SHALL PASS”

Myositis is a group of rare conditions that involve the chronic and progressive inflammation of the muscles. The symptoms of this disease include skin problems such as rashes, weakening of muscles, and pain in other organs and muscles, weight loss, fatigue, and low fever, among others.
