Salman Khan Asked Kiara Advani To Change Her First Name Because of Alia Bhatt

Kiara Advani who gained prominence in Bollywood after 'M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story', in a reality show recently revealed that superstar Salman Khan asked her to change her first name because of Alia Bhatt. Talking at the show, Kiara said her first name is Aaliya and also shared why she was asked by Salman to change her name. She said Salman asked her to change her name - Aaliya Advani to something else because the 'Dabangg' actor felt that there can't be two actresses with the same name in Bollywood.

Kiara said, "Aaliya is my first name. Salman Khan suggested me to change it because of Alia Bhatt because there can't be two actresses with the same name in Bollywood. He suggested the change, but 'Kiara' is the name that I chose. Now even my parents have started to call me Kiara."

Kiara made her debut in the industry in 2014 with 'Fugly'. It is worth mentioning that Salman Khan made a special appearance in a song in 'Fugly'.

However, on Instagram Kiara Advani goes by the name kiaraaliaadvani.

Kiara has also acted in 'Machine' but it was her stellar role in Karan Johar's segment of 'Lust Stories', which put her on the map. On the show, Kiara also recounted how she was cast in 'Lust Stories' without auditioning for the role. Kiara said: "Karan Johar has an eye for it. He spots a performer and he knows how to get it done."

Kiara said when she was filming for a scene with vibrator for Lust Stories, Karan Johar told her, "Don't make it a caricature, just be raw and do it. It's a funny scene but don't make it funny."

Kiara Advani will be next seen opposite Shahid Kapoor in 'Kabir Singh', which is slated to hit the big screens on June 21. She was last seen in 'Kalank' while she is filming 'Good News', 'Kanchana remake' and 'Shershaah'.
