1. Green Colour Powder Homemade Recipe
Gather these ingredients to prepare green colour Holi Powder:
- Henna powder
- Spinach
- Coriander
- Cornstarch or refined flour
- Water
Recipe:
- To begin with, mix henna powder with refined flour. This will give you a smooth and natural dry green colour.
- To make the wet green colour, grind the coriander and spinach with water and strain them.
- Mix the residual juice with cornstarch until the colour is even.
- Spread it on a tray and let it sun dry.
- Once it dries up, pass it through a fine strainer.
2. Pink Colour Powder Homemade Recipe
Holi is incomplete without pink gulal. To prepare it at home, use the following ingredients:
- Cornflour or talcum powder
- Beetroot
- Rose water
Recipe:
- Grate a few beetroots and squeeze their juice with the help of a cloth.
- Mix the strained beet juice with cornflour and rose water.
- Keep mixing until the colour is even.
- Pour it on a tray and allow it to dry.
- Pass it through a fine strainer and it's ready to use.
3. Yellow Colour Powder Homemade Recipe
To make a vibrant yellow Holi colour, use:
- Cornflour
- Turmeric
- Rosewater
- Water

- Add two tablespoons of turmeric powder to one cup of boiling water.
- Pour the mixture into a large tray and let it cool down.
- Now add two tablespoons of rose water and three cups of cornflour.
- Mix well to remove all the lumps. Grind it once and let it sundry.
4. Blue Colour Powder Homemade Recipe
To make a bright blue colour at home, use:
- Neeli gulmohar flower
- Cornstarch or talcum powder
Recipe:
- Neeli Gulmohar usually blooms in summer and has a bright blue shade that will help you in making a blue colour for Holi.
- Begin by drying the neeli gulmohar flowers.
- Grind them well and mix them with cornstarch or talcum powder.
