While Rajpath is the centre of attraction for Republic Day celebrations every year with the parade of the Indian army, navy, air force, police, and paramilitary groups, this year, you should look out for some special shenanigans. Scroll down to read all about them.

The Republic Day Parade

  • Starting from the Vijay Chowk, the Republic Day 2024 parade will begin at 10:30 am on January 26 and will lead on to Kartavya Path.

  • According to the reports, this year, the themes will feature the echoes of India's fundamental qualities as a democracy in sync with ‘Viksit Bharat’ and ‘Bharat - Loktantra ki Matruka.’

Top Attractions Of Republic Day 2024

  • An all-women tri-services group will be featured in the Republic Day parade for the first time this year. They will be showcasing women troops from the Army's military police and personnel.
  • Some Vibrant Villages are also on the list of special guests this year and their tough livelihoods will get some of the focus too.
  • Hony Captain Yogendra Yadav and Subedar Major Sanjay Kumar, who are among the three living Param Vir Chakra awardees, will be present at the Republic Day parade (Republic Day 2024 Rangoli Designs) this year.

  • Some of the special guests for the day also include Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, PM Ujjwala Yojana, PM Street Vendor's Aatmanirbhar Nidhi, and many more.
  • Squadron Leader Sumita Yadav will also be gracing the venue with her presence. She also participated in the French Bastille Day parade in Paris. It is a representation of the growing defence cooperation between India and France.
  • 15 women aviators will be a part of the Indian Air Force flypast featuring 51 planes.
  • Sarees from the various Indian states and union territories will be showcased as a part of the Culture Ministry's 'Anant Sutra' exhibition along with QR codes displayed creatively. These codes will contain details about the weaving and embroidery techniques of the sarees.
  • Also, the Republic Day Parade will feature ISRO's Chandrayaan-3 (Team Chandrayaan 3) mission achievements.
