Rashami Desai Opens Up Being Raised By A Single Mom & Much More

Rashami Desai is grabbing everyone's attention after her stint in the Bigg Boss 13. Her personal life became the talk of the town and it proved that Rashami is a true fighter. Despite facing so many troubles, the actress didn't give up and fight back with those problems. In a recent interview with an online portal, Rashami opened up being brought up by a single mom and the struggles she had faced.

Rashami revealed that her mother, who was a teacher in a government school, couldn't afford her dance class fee. She further revealed that her mother Rasila Desai requested the dance teacher to allow Rashami to teach the kids as she was not in a position to pay the entire fee.

Meanwhile, Rasila said that she changed her daughter's name from Shivani to Divya and finally Rashami because she was scared of the society when Rashami decided to be an actress.

"Her name is Shivani. But, I was scared of our society, so I changed her name from Shivani to Divya first. Then on achieving advice by an astrologer, I kept her name Rashami and after that, things just changed for her." She explained, "I was a single parent, I did not have a husband to support me. Also, in our caste, she was the first woman to enter this field. Our entire family was very educated and did not think of acting as a career. But, I supported her. I was scared of my family and society, so I changed her name. But my sister was there to support me throughout, " Rasila told the entertainment portal.

Rashami, who is known for her remarkable acting skills, further revealed that acting was not her first choice as a profession. She said, "I never told my mom I wanted to be an actor. In fact, earlier I wanted to become a choreographer like Saroj Khan or an air hostess. But the choices that came my way, I looked at it as an opportunity. My mom supported me throughout."

On the professional front, Rashami Desai was recently seen on the popular reality show Bigg Boss 13. Her relationship with then-boyfriend and actor Arhaan Khan became the talk of the town after Salman Khan revealed that he is married and has a child. The actress broke up with him after the show and is currently in her happy space.
