In a groundbreaking move for the Olympics, the opening ceremony will take place on the Seine River, featuring a four-mile-long floating procession. Athletes from around the globe will be transported on 160 boats through Paris, with the Eiffel Tower lit up along the way, culminating in a grand finale at the Trocadero.
Paris Olympics 2024 Venue
According to the Paris Olympics, most events of the Paris 2024 Olympics will be held in Paris itself, including fencing and taekwondo at the Grand Palais, beach volleyball and blind football at the Stade Eiffel, and swimming, triathlon, and road cycling at Pont Alexandre III. Historic venues such as Parc des Princes, Stade de France, and Stade Roland Garros will also host events. In mainland France, the cities of Bordeaux, Nantes, Lyon, Saint-Etienne, Nice, and Marseille will be home to the football tournament. Attend the Paris 2024 triathlon for free: The triathlon events, including a 1.5 km swim, 40 km cycle, and 10 km run, will take place in the heart of Paris. Only the stands near the Alexandre-III bridge (start/finish area) and the Champs-Élysées bridge will require tickets.
