During the 2024 Odisha Assembly elections, Pravati Parida contested from Nimapara seat in Puri district and won her first electoral battle. This victory played a significant role in her becoming the first female deputy CM of the state. Her election by BJP for such an important post shows her political and social calibre.

According to reports, Pravati Parida owns total assets worth ₹3.6 crore including but not limited to movable assets worth ₹2 crore and immovable assets worth ₹1.7 crore. She also declared that her total income is ₹31.8 lakh which also include her persona earnings of ₹9 lakh. However, she is also under a debt of ₹45 lakh with 9 criminal cases registered against her.

Pravati Parida’s Social Work And Professional Career

The 57-year-old Pravati is known for her social work with significant contributions towards general public. The politician has a master’s degree in Public Administration and has also done LLB degree from Utkal University. She also practised law for some time in Odisha High Court. Her husband, who is now retired, was a government officer. It is her legal and administrative experience that has aided her success in the political field.
