Created by music composer A.R Rahman, Chaiyya Chaiyya is one of the most loved Bollywood dance tracks. This hit number from the 1998 film Dil Se is a song we have all danced to. The catchy music makes us all want to get up and shake a leg.

Featuring Malaika Arora and Shah Rukh Khan, Chaiyya Chaiyya has been our favourite dance anthem through the years. But do you know, Malaika Arora was not the first choice for this iconic dance number?

Malaika Arora Wasn't The First Choice For Chaiyya Chaiyya

Filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan recently revealed on Malaika's new show, Moving In With Malaika, how Malaika Arora came on board for the dance number. She said, "You’re the Chaiyya Chaiyya girl. But luckily for you, some five heroines had refused to climb on the train."

Khan shared that Malaika Arora wasn't on the radar and the team had approached actors like Shilpa Shetty Kundra, Shilpa Shirodkar among others. She shared that while some were afraid to climb on the train, others were not available. Through a member of the makeup team, she got to know that Arora was a good dancer. Farah was curious to see if Malaika would be able to pull it off. The rest is history!

Moving In With Malaika

In the new clips from Malaika's new show, Moving In With Malaika, Arora can be seen talking about her life decisions with friend Farah Khan. A lot of other clips from the new show are going viral on social media.

In another clip, Malaika's BFF, Kareena Kapoor Khan can be seen calling Arora "witty, hot, beautiful and rock solid." One of the teasers also takes us through an event where Malaika can be seen speaking about her personal life. Arora's sister, Amrita Arora and friend Sophie Choudhry can be seen in attendance in the audience. Malaika Arora can be seen saying, "I have moved on, my ex has moved on, when will every one of you."

Moving In With Malaika will start streaming today onwards, ie, December 5, Monday to Thursday at 8 pm on Disney + Hotstar.
