India's top boxer Nikhat Zareen won the gold medal in the Light Flyweight division at the Commonwealth Games 2022, which are currently taking place in Birmingham, United Kingdom. Carly MC Naul of Northern Ireland was defeated by world champion Zareen as she claimed the nation's third boxing gold medal in Commonwealth Games 2022.

She dominated McNaul over all three rounds to defeat her. Based on points earned, she prevailed 5-0. India has won four gold medals today, totaling 17 from Birmingham. India also moved up to position four in the standings for medals by leaving behind New Zealand.
About Nikhat Zareen
Nikhat Zareen is an Indian boxer from the Nizamabad city of Telangana. She is 26 years old. Zareen competed in the boxing competition at the Commonwealth Games this year in the 50-kg division. She won her first gold medal at the 16th Senior Women National Boxing Championship in Assam in 2015 and the Strandja Memorial Boxing Tournament in Bulgaria in 2019, it's her third big win this time.

Nikhat has had a remarkable and varied sporting career before winning the gold medal (CWG2022: More Medal Events For Women, First Time In A Multi-Sport Event) at the Commonwealth Games in 2022. She first gained recognition in global championships when she was just a teenager. Her father, Mohammad Jameel Ahmed, who trained her for a year, introduced her to boxing.
