Neha Kakkar Gives Away Rs 2 Lakh To A Firefighter For His "Selfless Deed"

Singer Neha Kakkar, who is currently judging Indian Idol 11 is quite a humble soul as she just made a soldier's Republic Day a whole lot better. In the recent episode, the singer pledged to give Rs 2 lakhs to a firefighter, Bipin Ganatra who has been working as a firefighter for more than 40 years. He has also been a recipient of the prestigious Padma Shri Award in 2017.

She said that the way Bipin Ganatra has been protecting us is a selfless deed. She expressed that she is extremely happy to have met him in person and would like to gift ₹2 Lakh for all the years that he has spent protecting the country and us.

"The way you have been protecting us without thinking about yourself is such a selfless deed. I cannot express how happy I am to meet you. I would like to gift you Rs 2 lakh as a gesture for the years you have spent in protecting us," Neha said.

Last year, the singer also helped one of the contestant by gifting him Rs 1 Lakh as a Diwali gift. Diwas Kumar shared that his family and friends from Jharkhand have showed him immense support ever since his audition was successful. Later he broke down into tears and revealed that he hasn't been home in 6 years and never really celebrated Diwali. His story moved the judges and Neha Kakkar pledged to give him Rs 1 Lakh so he can go home and celebrate the festival with his family. The singer also asked him to take a flight home and get his family members' new clothes and sweets.

Coming back to the show, Indian Idol is a reality show that tries to hunt for the best singers in the country. The show airs on Sony Entertainment Television and has more than 50 million viewers. The reality show has seen judges like Salim Merchant, Asha Bhosle, Sunidhi Chauhan and gave us some amazing singers like Arijit Singh, Abhijeet Sawant among others. Currently, the 11th season of the singing reality show is being telecast and is hosted by Udit Narayan’s son Aditya Narayan.
