This Mother's Day or even if it is not, take out time for your mother and watch some sweet movies with her which we are sure will leave you with a happy heart. The emotional ride they will give but the love will increase. Whether it is Bollywood or Hollywood, these movies will be understood by all. What is cool? The movies have a superb cast of both Indian and foreign shores.

Sure, your favourite fictional superheroes are everything you want to be. Only your very own real-life superhero can beat them, hands down. Yes, we’re talking about moms who just can’t stop being badass…all day, every day. Give them a cape and they will show you who saves the day (they do it without one anyway). As you take the time off to celebrate Mother’s Day and raise a much-deserved toast to her, here is a list of shows and films you can watch with your moms on Netflix.

Mother's Day

Based on how lives of four mothers, who are dealing with personal issues in their own way, intertwine over a week leading to Mother's Day, this movie has an amazing cast which includes Jennifer Aniston, Kate Hudson and Julia Roberts. It released in 2016 but is now available on Neflix.

Mothers and Daughters

This movie explores the lives of different mothers and their children. It has an ensemble cast which includes Susan Sarandon, Christina Ricci, Sharon Stone, Eva Amurri, Courteney Cox, Paul Wesley, and Ashanti. The film revolves around the relationships between several mothers and their children. This film shows a pregnant photographer who captures motherhood on film while re-examining her relationship with her estranged mom.

A crime thriller film directed by Ravi Udyawar, this film stars late actress Sridevi, as a vigilante, who sets out to avenge her step-daughter. It has Adnan Siddiqui, Akshaye Khanna and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in supporting roles. This movie marked Sridevi's 300th, and it was also the final major film appearance before her death on 24 February 2018.

The film received two awards at the 65th National Film Awards: Best Actress for Sridevi, marking the first posthumous win in the category and music maestro A.R Rehman bagged the Best Background Score.

Freaky Friday

This film is based on Mary Rodgers’ 1972 novel by the same name, which stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan as a mother and daughter, whose bodies are switched due to a mysterious and magical fortune cookie. It is a cool movie frankly! I saw it with Ma and we both felt a connection because I believe most of us go through this phase of rebel and clash with our parents. This sure did change things with my mother and hopefully, it will work like a charm for you as well.

Produced by Aamir Khan and Kiran Rao, the film stars Zaira Wasim, Meher Vij, Raj Arjun, and Aamir Khan. The film narrates the coming-of-age story of a teenage girl who aspires to be a singer, uploading videos on YouTube while disguising her identity with a niqab, and her relationships with her mother, father and mentor. A beautiful movie which impressed us all, the project deals with social issues including feminism, gender equality and domestic violence. It was this movie which wonWasim the National Child Award for Exceptional Achievement.

Khoobsurat

Directed by Shashanka Ghosh and produced by Rhea Kapoor, Anil Kapoor, and Siddharth Roy Kapur, this film has a special place in my heart. Yes it stars Sonam Kapoor and Kirron Kher as mother-daughter wherein they do not keep secrets and the mother is super broad-minded and shares a beautiful relationship with the daughter, but it also featured Pakistani actor Fawad Khan... Without sparking any noise on this line of mine... You cannot miss the superb acting of Ratna Pathak and Aamir Raza Hussain. The plot of the film is that a free-spirited doctor (Sonam) is hired to assist an injured king and winds up challenging his family's tradition-bound lifestyle as she falls for his son (Fawad).
