Capcom has officially announced a feature-rich update for Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics, set to go live on April 16, 2025. The update delivers a host of improvements across gameplay, offline modes, and visual fidelity, aimed at both long-time fans and new players discovering the iconic franchise.
This update specifically introduces new content and options for two fan-favourite titles in the collection—X-Men Vs. Street Fighter and Marvel Vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes—alongside overall enhancements applied across all seven games.
What Is Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics?
The Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is a celebration of Capcom’s legendary crossover fighting games with Marvel Comics. The collection includes seven iconic titles that once ruled the arcade scene, such as:
- X-Men: Children of the Atom
- Marvel Super Heroes
- X-Men Vs. Street Fighter
- Marvel Super Heroes Vs. Street Fighter
- Marvel Vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes
- Marvel Vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes
- The Punisher
All games feature online multiplayer with rollback netcode, casual and ranked matches, co-op gameplay, high score challenges, and more. Players can also explore training modes, enable beginner-friendly mechanics, and browse a massive collection of over 500 pieces of artwork and 200 music tracks.

Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection Latest Update
Capcom’s latest title update introduces the following new features and changes:
For X-Men Vs. Street Fighter:
- Players can now choose between three versions: 960910, 961004, and 961023, allowing for version-specific gameplay experiences.
For Marvel Vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes:
- Enhanced visual fidelity with resolution options and improved graphics quality.
- Versus Mode is now available across all fighting titles.
- In-game menus can be accessed via long press during online matches to prevent accidental inputs.
- The pause menu now includes a reset option, allowing players to restart a match instantly.
- New artwork from legendary Capcom artist Shinkiro has been added.
- Fans can enjoy fresh Cap-Jams remixes of classic themes.

These updates are also being extended to Capcom Fighting Collection and Capcom Fighting Collection 2, ensuring consistency across Capcom’s fighting game library.
